Monel 502 alloy is a nickel-copper alloy. It can be machined similar to that of austenitic stainless steels. Monel 502 alloy can be formed using conventional techniques and can be welded using conventional methods.
Monel 502 alloy reacts to heat treatment and annealing. It is annealed at 1038°C (1900°F) followed by quenching in water and it is forged at 1010 to 1149°C (1850 to 2100°F) followed by quenching in water. Monel 502 is hot worked at 872 to 1149°C (1600 to 2100°F). It can be cold worked using conventional methods.
Monel 502 alloy is aged at temperatures ranging from 594 to 608°C (1100 to 1125°F) followed by cooling in a furnace.
